This is a beautiful scenic tour with the possibility to add on a walk or two if you so desire. We will pass through some stunning locations ideal for taking some amazing photographs and picking up some very Scottish souvenirs. We will drive by mountains and lochs with scenery that will take your breath away. A little taste of “Glorious Scotland”.
This tour will take us along the west side of central Scotland. We will head from your point of pick up directly to Loch Lomond side(B). We will stop for photographs and take time to enjoy the magnificent beauty of the area. From here we will continue up the side of the loch. There is an option to stop in Luss, filming location for the old TV soap opera Take The High Road, leaving the side of loch lomond we will start to head further west towards Arrochar (C) where there is the opportunity to go for a walk and take in magnificent views of the “Arrochar Alps” including the Cobbler Hill. From Arrochar we will take the winding road up the rest and be thankful to get some beautiful views down the valley (D).
From there we will head down towards Loch Fyne which boasts the famous Loch Fyne Oyster Bar (E) and then into Inveraray (F), a beautiful village on the side of Loch Fyne where we can visit the castle or the jail. For those with a bit more energy there is a relatively steep walk up to the bell tower on the hill side. The “Vital Spark” the old steam boat used in the TV series Para Handy is also moored at the dock side. We will stay in Inveraray for lunch and you will be able to pick up souvenirs in the many tourist shops in the busy main street. There are also a couple of whisky shops and the Edinburgh Woolen Mill for all things tartan.
From Inveraray we will head north up the side of beautiful Loch Awe, at the top of the loch we will start to head back east towards Tyndrum (G) and the famous “Green Welly” tea room and gift shop. From Tyndrum we will start to head south again passing through beautiful scenery and the little village of Tarbet with stunning views of Ben Lomond on the way. From Tarbet we will drive to your drop of point.
